NEW YORK (CNNMoney)
P.F. Chang's is investigating claims that thousands of credit and debit cards were stolen from its restaurants earlier this year, according to Krebs on Security. The credit card data was then sold on rescator.so, a web site that's also linked to a security breach involving Target (TGT) credit cards.
P.F. Chang's which has more than 200 locations in the U.S. and is based in Scottsdale, Ariz., was not immediately available for comment.
"We are not aware of any data breach," said an employee who answered the phone of Centerbridge Partners, the investment firm based in New York that owns the chain.
The card thefts reportedly occurred between March and May of his year.
News of a possible theft at P.F. Chang's follows a massive security breach that occurred at Target (TGT)stores over the 2013 holiday shopping season, where credit card numbers and other personal information was stolen from up to 110 million customers.
